VISUAL MERCHANDISING @ MELISSA ODABASH CHELSEA

I was given the freedom to re-merchandise a main display within the store. The choice of items on display previous to this were quite dark and overwhelming. There was no clear fluidity and thus I chose to base the display around an assortment of complimentary bright colours. I draped smooth beaded necklaces and bracelets over the uneven white corals creating a textural contrast. A combination of soft neutral tones paired with bright pinks and blues.

COLOURFUL RAIL FOR MOR JEWELLERY PHOTOSHOOT ON THE 13/02/14

sushiandsugar:

In comparison to the previous photoshoot directed for Mor, we chose to also shoot another incorporating colour and lightly textured clothing.

AFTERNOON TEA @ THE AQUA SHARD

sushiandsugar:

Beautiful afternoon tea at The Shard. Such a lovely place to have afternoon tea with such an amazing view. Lucky enough to visit on a day with clear skies, being able to see the whole of London and to even see the sunset.

ASOS MAGAZINE - APRIL 2014 ISSUE

sushiandsugar:

I absolutely love both of these images from the latest Asos Magazine. The shoes tell a narrative without the placement of a model within the composition. The colours and props really reflect the mood which is trying to be conveyed through the imagery.

AQUA

sushiandsugar:

Aqua. Inspired by the Dive In feature in the new April 2014 Asos Magazine. Calming sensations from colour and natural elements, applied and translated through into fashion garments. I particularly liked the minimalistic colour palette which was used within the photography and felt inspired to create a moodboard reflecting the theme and ambience I had picked up.

URBAN JUNGLE

sushiandsugar:

Urban Jungle. Tropical, foliage jungle prints are a key trend for S/S 14. I created a moodboard (see blow) for my interpretation of this trend. I opted for the idea of an urban jungle. The collaboration between natural, green, botanical and tropical prints combined with city landscapes.

HEXAGON GEOMETRIC

sushiandsugar:

Moodboard I created inspired by a geometric print top from Zara. I simply love the pattern, surface texture and detail of such a simple shape which has been repeated all over the garment. A shape which is evident on everyday objects.

VM DISPLAY @ H&M OXFORD STREET

sushiandsugar:

I was having a wonder around H&M Oxford Street today and came across this display in the store. I am in love with the gold foil printing on each of the mannequins faces. It creates a consistency with each styled look. Rather than using gold on just the faces I particularly like how they have incorporated an element of gold into each outfit. The display really reminded me of a collage I created a few months ago based around black and gold. (see below)

VM DISPLAY @ JOSEPH, SOUTH KENSINGTON

sushiandsugar:

Love the simplicity and contemporary feel to Joseph’s new VM window in South Kensington. They’ve focused purely on a specific block colour with each look and have incorporated this same colour into an assortment of chairs to match each outfit. Just like the clothing the interior design element of the display matches up with the overall modern ambience which Joseph was clearly aiming for.

VISUAL MERCHANDISING AT MELISSA ODABASH

sushiandsugar:

The window display is changed weekly and due to the beautiful weather this week we felt it would be fitting to have an elegant white dress styled with subtle mint, gold and white accessories. We chose a refreshing colour palette to really emphasise the pure white clothing with minimal details.

WAREHOUSE STORE LAUNCH, OXFORD STREET. YOU’RE GIFTED PROMOTION!

sushiandsugar:

So Warehouse just opened a brand new store on Oxford Street this weekend and as part of the stores launch Warehouse decided to host a promotional event called You’re Gifted. The event was in celebration of the store opening but also because Warehouse have been waiting 30 years to have a store in this location!
The aim of the promotional stunt was to target fashionable women who fit the Warehouse brand ethos passing by the store. This was done by going up to certain women with amazing fashion sense with a gift box, handing it over whilst everyone in the background cheers and claps as they are handed the box due to their great sense of style. Once handed the box they were escorted into the store where they were ushered to collect their free gift (a limited edition iPhone case with an exclusive design created by Warehouse). In addition to the free gift they received, free champagne and chocolate brownie lollies where also handed out in store to everyone who came in to visit.

BELOW ARE SOME PICTURES I TOOK DURING THE EVENT

As a kind gesture for participating in the store launch event, each volunteer was given a £50 gift voucher! Not bad for about 3 hours work, and i managed to get one of the iPhone cases too :)
Extremely glad I participated, was indeed fun and will definitely be doing more things like this in the future.

3.1 PHILLIP LIM, VM WINDOW - SOUTH KENSINGTON

sushiandsugar:

I pass Phillip Lim every week on my way to work and absolutely love the cooling colour palette they have selected for their display this time round. An assortment of soft cool pastel shades paired with darker green/blue/turquoise shades to emphasise the light pastel shades.

RECENT H&M JEWELLERY PURCHASES!

sushiandsugar:

When it comes to jewellery i flip between phases of loving chunky pieces then more dainty pieces. On a recent visit to H&M i thought I would have a little wander around their jewellery section and stumbled across these delicate and understated pieces. A mix of silver and gold which I would most certainly layer when wearing. I was previously never a fan of lettering on necklaces or any other pieces of jewellery due to the fear of them looking too young and childish, however when I came across this set where you are able to make your own I was instantly swayed. I like the idea that you are given the choice with how you would like to arrange the lettering, although it would’ve been helpful if they gave out two of each letter rather than just the one.

MODERN MARBLES

sushiandsugar:

I am literally obsessed with all things marble lately. This was sparked when i discovered Lily Kamper’s jewellery, it is contemporary and is inspired by architecture which is incorporated in her designs. She has echoed marble prints through into some of her pieces as well as within her imagery which features online.
